PINNOCHIO AND THE LIES

Who haven´t said lies? everybody has said lies since children  and probably until dead. I´m not saying that we must telling lies everyday but telling lies is common as brush the teeth or go to sleep in the night.

According to a book The Day America Told the Truth, most of 91 % American  population say lies. the principal characteristics of why people say lies is for having a good impression, for excuses that becomes in personal benefits or for taking advantage from a situation or from someone. In the children case parents lie children for three reasons: First, to help them make sense out of their circumstances, second, to bring assurance to their anxieties and finally, to inspire them to reach beyond their limits. Those kind of situations, according with Dr Chuck Borsellino a Christian phsicologist are lies.

Why? because most of parents change the essence of those words for distorting the reality and for don´t be afraid of the real environment. Most of time happens, for example in the case of children when his or her favorite pet (fish, dog, cat) die, most of parents say lies such as: "Your fish went to live with their friends in the ocean.”. That happens because parents don´t want children know the truth  in some cases, or they think that telling the truth children´ll have a "psicologic problem".

Dr. Brosellino argues We’ve become a nation of “Pinocchio Parents”. The reason is because at the same time we learn children how to ride bicycle, we are recreating them how to say lies in a case that children need. For most of parents its normal, but within years children are confused and maybe could think and act in opposite form.

For a good cognitive and attitudinal process, in measure of possibilities, is important tell the truth to our children; it doesn´t matter if is cruel or heavy for them, but keep safe that they are going to reflect and´ll understand clearly what happen around them
